SAINSBURY boss says business as usual

Speaking on the sidelines of a retail conference yesterday, the chief executive of Sainsbury, Justin King, said that it was business as usual and would not be drawn on the potential of several takeover bids emerging for the retailer. Mr King said that the UK Takeover Panel, which regulates mergers and acquisitions, is managing the process well so far. He declined to comment on current trading, adding that the company is scheduled to report its trading performance in four weeks.
