Walmart mexico - WALMEX investments in northern Mexico
Wal-Mart’s Mexican subsidiary Walmex has announced plans to invest USD107 million in northern Mexico this year. The investment represents 11% of Walmex’s capital expenditure programme for the whole of the country, which is budgeted at USD966 million. According to company spokesperson Raul Arguelles, the northern region is important for the company because Walmex operates 63 stores there with a staff of 11,700. The 2007 investment will create 2,300 jobs.
