EU delays meeting on CARREFOUR purchase of Ahold operations in Poland
The European Commission has delayed its antitrust review of Carrefour’s plan to buy Ahold’s Polish operations. The meeting, which was originally scheduled for March 23, has been postponed to April 4. Reportedly, the delay is due to Polish antitrust authorities asking to be involved in the review. Under EU regulation, national antitrust authorities can be involved in reviewing a deal if it mainly affects their own market.
