DELHAIZE to sell DI drugstore chain in Belgium

Delhaize has reached an agreement with Parma Gestion, a subsidiary of Distripar, regarding the sale of its Di drugstore banner. Arthur Goethals, Executive Vice President and CEO Western and Central Europe said, “We are convinced that the combination of Di with the specialty retailers of Distripar will create a stronger player in the competitive Belgian beauty and body care market. The sale of Di will allow Delhaize Belgium to focus its financial and management efforts on its businesses in food and pet products in which it has important market positions.”
