Carrefour yesterday confirmed that it has received a request for two seats on the retailer’s supervisory board from Blue Capital, a joint venture between Bernard Arnault and private equity firm Colony Capital. Carrefour "takes note of the request" and is considering meeting with Blue Capital representatives for them to clarify their intentions, according to the retailer. Carrefour's management board will announce its decision after the company's next supervisory board meeting. Meanwhile, the Halley family are attempting to reinforce their position as the leading shareholder in Carrefour by requesting a third seat on its board, a resolution that will also go before the meeting on April 20th.
