CARREFOUR to award hypermarket construction contract in Malaysia

According to unconfirmed reports in the Malaysian press, turnkey contractor Melati Ehsan Holdings may win a MYR1.4 billion (USD392.7 million) contract to build up to 40 Carrefour hypermarkets nationwide in three years. It is understood that Carrefour is planning to open four hypermarkets in Kuala Lumpur and another 34 to 36 hypermarkets in other parts of the country.
