METRO to divest 12 Real hypermarkets in Germany
Metro owned hypermarket chain Real is planning to divest 12 loss making outlets in Germany. Six of the stores will be closed down while the other six will be sold. A spokeswoman for Real said that the closure of the outlets would affect 443 staff. The six hypermarkets to be closed down are located in Pulheim, Koblenz, Senden, Bad Breisig, Uberlingen and Balingen. The plans to give up 12 outlets still have to be approved by Real's supervisory board.
