Voyages CARREFOUR launches e-commerce site in France
Carrefour’s travel agency division in France, Voyages Carrefour, reported turnover of EUR220 million (USD276 million) last year with a network of 94 outlets, located in malls adjacent to Carrefour hypermarkets. The head of the division Isabelle Cordier has stated that the aim is to extend the network to 100 outlets by the end of this year, with a turnover rise of between 5% and 10% expected for the whole year. In addition, the retailer last week launched an online transactional site at www.voyagescarrefour.com, which Ms Cordier explains as being different from the existing offer, “Our site is a facilitator for travel thanks to a multi criteria engine.”
