LIDL expands DC network in UK

Lidl UK has unveiled plans to build a distribution centre in Newton Aycliffe, CountyDurham, in North East England, leading to the creation of 250 full and part-time jobs. Local media report that Lidl has submitted its plans for the distribution centre, together with offices and more than 200 parking spaces, to the town council. "We have more than 450 Lidl stores in the UK and seven distribution sites - this will be our eighth. It all forms part of our expansion programme," a Lidl spokesman was quoted as saying.
