LIDL unprofitable in Czech Republic

According to reports in the Czech press, Lidl’s local operation reported a loss of nearly CZK900 million (USD39.7 million) last year, caused primarily by the quick pace of store openings in the country. Lidl entered the Czech Republic in 2003 and has nearly 160 stores in the country at present.
