Instore PLC, formerly Brown & Jackson plc, is a United Kingdom-based retail company. The Company's principal activity is variety retailing conducted through a country wide network of outlets providing its target markets with ranges of added value products at a competitive prices. Brown & Jackson aims to become the number one destination shop for mothers and their families. The Company conducts its business activities through its main operating subsidiary, Poundstretcher. In March 2005, the Company opened its new head office, distribution and warehousing facility at Huddersfield. In addition, as of April 2005, the Company operated 89 stores nationwide.

Instore Stores

Our continually growing retail estate currently consists of 140 stores located throughout UK. The largest store at 16,000 square feet is located in Milton Keynes. The first 7 …instore branches were opened on the 3rd September 2003. Performance achieved since then has been phenomenal with an expansion rate unrivelled by many other retailers.

2006 will be just as exciting, as we continue to grow the estate with another 20 conversions of £-stretcher stores and another 20 new stores planned before the end of the year. Our focus is to make stores appealing to the whole family and deliver a unique shopping experience to every customer.

Instore plc operates a countrywide network of retail outlets, under both the instore and the Poundstretcher brands, providing variety retailing across an extensive range of products, all at exceptional prices.

Instore plc came into being in July 2005, shareholders having agreed to the company’s name being changed from Brown & Jackson plc.

Brown & Jackson was incorporated in 1983 and was listed on the London Stock Exchange in March 1989. In 1995, Pepkor, South Africa’s largest retailer acquired a controlling stake in the company.

Poundstretcher has streamlined its offer to provide its target market with a variety of good quality product ranges at affordable and competitive prices.

Our vision is to be a unique, added value variety retailer. Unique in that the total shopping experience (product width and depth, range presentation and merchandising and friendliness of service) will not be matched.

Added value in that the product range will be exceptional, offering exceptional value with a focus on promotional and seasonal events throughout the year.

By achieving this, our aim is to become the No.1 destination shop for mum and the family.

In September 2002 the company concluded a major restructuring, with the trading subsidiaries What Everyone Wants, Your More Stores and the Famous Brunswick Shoe Warehouse disposed of, together with retailing interests in Poland.

It was at this time that the company embarked on the programme of rebranding the existing Poundstretcher estate as …instore, together with laying plans for a new purpose built distribution centre to serve the estate.
