More details on EDEKA/TENGELMANN/PLUS tie-up

In an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, Edeka chairman & CEO Alfons Frenk has given more details on the far-reaching agreement between Edeka and Tengelmann signed last Friday that will see the two companies merge their Netto and Plus discount divisions in a 70/30 joint venture and Tengelmann's supermarket division switch to buying through Edeka, rather than the Markant buying group. | read more

HERITAGE FOODS to raise funds

Heritage Foods (HFIL) is planning to raise INR120 crore (USD25 million approx) by placing equity with qualified institutional buyers (QIB's). HFIL President Sambasiva Rao said, "We have chalked out an expansion programme involving an investment of INR120 crore (USD25 million) over the next 12 months for the three business verticals."
