NETTO starts automated ordering
Edeka-owned discount retailer Netto has started automated ordering based on demand forecasts for its distribution centres. According to Lebensmittel Zeitung, the discounter has deployed the software “Gold Topase” from Aldata Solutions for replenishment optimisation as from March this year. The tool will gradually supersede the manual orders from suppliers. Netto selected Aldata as its strategic software platform in 2004. In recent years, the discount retailer has implemented the Gold warehouse management software including pick-by-voice operations. Netto has stated that it will implement the Gold solution for the remaining business operations including the central merchandise management in the years to come.
