Publié le par Stéphane Jeanneteau

In the second quarter Costco has reported that net sales increased to USD14.80 billion from USD13.79 billion a year before. US comparable sales grew at 5%, international comparable sales at 4%. Net income for the second quarter (12 weeks) of fiscal 2007 was USD249.5 million, compared to USD296.2 million during the second quarter of fiscal 2006. The result was affected by two one-time pre-tax charges concerning: the recent change of the company's consumer electronics return policy (USD48.1 million) and adverse tax consequence from a review of stock options (USD46.4 million) as well as a one-time pre-tax refund of USD10.1 million. Without these one off-effects the second quarter net income would have been USD302.9 million.
