CASINO names new Leader Price boss

Casino yesterday announced that it has appointed Gerard Koenigheit as interim chairman of the management board of Leader Price Holding, the parent company of the Leader Price discount chain, and said it will name a new management team for Leader Price 'within the next few weeks'. According to a press release from Casino, "The decision reflects Casino's commitment to revitalising sales at Leader Price, whose business performance has been mediocre in recent months.” Gerard Koenigheit replaces Bernard Baud, a member of the Baud family that is the founding shareholder of both Leader Price and Franprix, another Casino-owned chain. Just last week, Casino also replaced Baud family members at the head of Franprix as part of a similar effort to turn around poor performance.
